Hey doll,

You already know us, but we’ve grown up a bit… Formerly your favourite nail salon, Ragdoll Nails. We’re her older sister, here to give you even more than before. Same flawless nails, same people, same safe space to discuss your secrets, but we have a lot more in store.

Our new look is reflective of our evolution. Not only will we still provide the nails you love, we’re bringing you facials and lash and brow treatments; but not as you know it. Our facials are specialised, using a range of techniques and devices to bring our dolls a skincare sanctuary that will work-out your skin, whilst fitting in with your diary.

Our ethos is to be here for you. A safe space for you to come in, let your guard down and let us take care of you. Our salon walls are a vault. Over the last few years we’ve built a community of dolls who come in and chat to each other as much as they chat to us. It’s not just beauty, it’s your social time, your relaxing time and your energising time. Your time to take for yourself while we make sure your features are on point. Our promise to you is that you'll always leave feeling at least a million times better than when you arrived.

LASH LIFT & BROW LAM

We want you to get the best and longest results out of your treatment, so we need you to take a little extra care over the first 24-48hrs whilst the lift is still settling settling into place:

For the next 24 hours you must keep the area dry, this includes; sauna/steam, make-up, eye cream, mascara, swimming.

We recommend getting your lashes and/or brows. re-tinted in 4 weeks time, then the full treatment again in 8 weeks.

FACIALS

Now that we've worked our magic on your skin, here are a few tips to keep you glowing as long as possible:

  • Drink water to rehydrate your skin and to flush out toxins that have been moved around by your therapists’ touch.

  • Try and rest after your treatment and have an early night. This will deepen the positive benefits of the massage and help your skin to begin regenerating (a process that happens mostly at night).

  • Try not to wear make-up for 24hrs, to give your new skin cells chance to breathe.

  • Wear a high SPF, ideally factor 50, during the day. We’ll have removed old skin cells, leaving you with fresh and new skin. But this means it will be more sensitive to pollutants and UVA / UVB light.

  • Don’t exfoliate your skin for 48hrs and only use gentle exfoliants for the first week after a facial.

  • Try not to consume too much sugar, especially within 48hrs of a facial. Sugar causes an insulin spike, which in turn can cause inflammation of the skin and lead to skin conditions such as acne, redness, dermatitis.

WAXING

We want to keep that freshly waxed face looking gorgeous, so for the next 24-48hrs please avoid excess heat, friction, touching the area and be sure to use gentle products.

NAILS

Wear rubber gloves when washing up or cleaning. Nails are porous, so submerging them into water will cause them to swell out when in contact & shrink back down when dried out. This movement of the nail plate will cause separation between itself & the coating, appearing as if the coating is ‘peeling’ or ‘falling’ off of the natural nail - sometimes in full pieces.

Do not pick at things with your nails! Picking at labels, sellotape, parcels, presents, compacts, will loosen or even break the seal between your natural nail & product, causing the product to begin lifting from the edge or even chipping! Even if you don't see it instantly, damage is done which will lead to a chip or lift a day later. Treat your nails like jewels, not tools!

Avoid using products that contain lanolin, mineral oil, petroleum jelly & essential oils (found in creams such as Sudocrem, E45, Vaseline, suncreams, hand creams & skincare to name a few!). These react with the nail coatings, causing them to lift from the nail plate or in some cases, eat away the product. Keep your creams away from your nails, use cotton pads or gloves if possible, the palms of your hands rather than fingertips & wash hands thoroughly after use! Basically keep anything you apply to your face, body or hair away from your nails! Please also note, companies do use different names for the above ingredients, so it’s difficult to decipher what’s good and what’s not, which is why we recommend just avoiding contact between all products and the nails - better safe than sorry!

Solar Oil daily, at least once, but we do like you to do it as much as possible. There is no such thing as over-using Solar Oil!

Be careful when going swimming, relaxing in a hot tub or taking baths. Soaking in water, especially water containing chemicals, will separate the nail plate & coating as we read before! Keep your hands out of the water at all times! (It’s a good excuse to have a drink and/or snack in your hand!).

Watch out for staining! Fake tans, makeup, purple hair shampoo, spices i.e. tumeric, can affect nails due to them being porous, so watch out for these & keep them away from your beaut new colour!

When washing & sanitising your hands regularly - please note that this will effect your nails, so ensure you dry your hands thoroughly after washing paying particular attention to the side walls of your nails as water can sit here and if not dried away, it will loosen your nail coating from the edges. Sanitiser contains high levels of alcohol which will wear away and promote lift of your coatings with overexposure; be as careful as you can with this; try keep it away from the nail area and if it does cover, then make sure your thoroughly rub it in so that there is no wet products left to penetrate the nail.

Ensure nail coatings are removed correctly. Incorrect removal of nail products can cause irreversible damage to the natural nail & may cause problems for future nail appointments, as the product cannot hold onto the nail plate correctly, meaning premature breakdown of your fresh set.

Please note: the nail unit can be affected by factors such as pregnancy, menopause, specialised medical treatments and general anaesthetic.. We respect that these life events are private, however ask that if you are going through any of these, please consider that it may affect your nail service. If you have trouble with your coatings and are experiencing one of these, please do feel comfortable to privately let us know and we can look into any temporary alterations we may be able to add into our prep to encourage adhesion and remedy the issue!
